After an impressive season, the San Diego Chargers have signed wide receiver Eric Parker to a new contract that will last until the 2010 season. Parker only had one year remaining on his previous deal.
Last year, Parker was third on the team in receiving with 57 catches for 725 yards and three touchdowns. He also returned 18 punts for 106 yards. Parker came to the Chargers in 2002 as an undrafted free agent. He did just as well for the Chargers two years ago, which was good enough to earn him the new deal.
Parker will have a new quarterback throwing to him in Phillip Rivers, since Drew Brees is now with the New Orleans Saints.
