With the twenty-sixth pick of the 2007 NFL Draft, the Dallas Cowboys selected defensive end Anthony Spencer from Purdue. To get this pick, the Dallas Cowboys traded back into the first round with the Philadelphia Eagles. The Eagles get a second, third, and fifth-round pick from the Cowboys in exchange for it.
Spencer is a versatile defensive end that can double as an outside linebacker if necessary. It is somewhat surprising that the Cowboys passed on wide receiver Robert Meachem, whom was still available on the board.
