The Philadelphia Eagles may seek a change from QB Mike McMahon this week, after he threw two interceptions in the first half that were returned for touchdowns against the Seattle Seahawks on Monday Night Football. The candidate to replace him would be QB Koy Detmar, who threw two picks and lost a fumble against the Seahawks after replacing McMahon. With those numbers, you can't get too excited either way.

McMahon was starting his third game in place of QB Donovan McNabb, who had season ending surgery a few weeks ago.

Eagles' head coach Andy Reid has yet to decide who will start against the New York Giants this week.

"I want the best guy out there to do the job," said Reid on Tuesday. "That's where you look No. 1. Who I think can be most effective against the team that you're playing, I guess you take that into some consideration."

McMahon understands the position Reid is in, although he wants to play.

"Sometimes when things are not going the way you need them to go, you need to make a change and try to get a spark," McMahon said. "You don't want to come out of the game. You want to go back in there and do the best you can to get those points back. But, whatever Coach feels is best for the team, you have to believe in that."

Detmar, who has backed up McNabb the past few years, feels pretty much the same way.

"On the offensive side of the ball, I don't think anybody could be real proud of what they accomplished," Detmer said. "It was a tough game and a tough night. We have to put our stuff back on, go to work, try to get better and try to go again next week."

The Eagles probably will not sign another QB.
