After struggling to find an answer at the kicker position the past several years, the Atlanta Falcons signed veteran Jason Elam to a four-year deal worth $9 million.
Elam, 38, will be playing for a new team for the first time since 1993. Elam has been with the Denver Broncos for the past 15 years.
"I'm going to miss Denver. It's a parting of ways, but it's a good parting. This is a new beginning and I’m fired up."
The Falcons tried to get through with 47-year old Morten Anderson the past two seasons. Although Anderson still has the accuracy, he can't be counted on for long distance kicks, something that was once considered a specialty for Elam. Elam kicked a 63-yarder years ago for the Broncos.
