With the fourteenth pick of the 2007 NFL Draft, the New York Jets selected cornerback Darrelle Revis. The Jets traded their first-round pick (25 overall), their second-round pick, and their fifth-round pick to get the Panthers' first-rounder and their sixth-rounder.
The pick makes sense, as I originally had the Jets taking cornerback Chris Houston with the 25th overall pick. The Steelers, who pick next, would most certainly have taken Revis if he were on the board due to his local ties.
It is interesting that the Jets passed on the opportunity to draft quarterback Brady Quinn, who simply continues to fall down in the draft.
