With the sixteenth pick in the 2007 NFL Draft, the Green Bay Packers selected defensive tackle Justin Harrell. Of all the picks in the first round thus far, this is the one that could be considered the most surprising. It seemed as if it would be a lock that the Packers would draft an offensive player, but that could have been changed after the Buffalo Bills drafted running back Marshawn Lynch.
Still, the Packers could have taken quarterback Brady Quinn, wide receiver Robert Meachem, or tight end Greg Olsen. Instead, they are continuing to work on their defense, and will likely have to address their running back situation in the second or third round.
With each pick that goes by, the salary for Quinn takes a major hit.
