With the twenty-fifth pick of the 2007 NFL Draft, the Carolina Panthers selected linebacker Jon Beason. After having a disappointing defensive effort last season, the Panthers will try to recuperate from losses such as those left by Dan Morgan.

The Panthers had traded down earlier with the New York Jets. In the end, they've added a linebacker that they coveted, and can snag another prime defensive player with the 59th overall pick a little bit later.
