With the 13th pick in the 2008 NFL Draft, the Carolina Panthers selected running back Jonathon Stewart from Oregon.
Stewart had toe surgery in March, but he still ran well at the combine. I initially had the Panthers taking either Rashard Mendenhall or Chris Williams with this pick, but the Panthers probably looked past Stewart's injury, as he was originally pegged as the draft's second-best back. After cutting ties with running back DeShaun Foster, this pick makes sense.
