What will the New Orleans Saints do with Deuce McAllister? That question will be answered in the next couple of weeks, because he's due a $1 million roster bonus on April 15. If the team chooses to pay him the bonus, then obviously he'll be with the team next season. However, if they want to go their seperate ways, the Saints will terminate his contract.

McAllister is attempting to return from a torn ACL in his right knee last season and microfracture surgery on his left knee. He's currently able to work through light jogs and should be able to run at full speed around April 1.

The Saints already have Reggie Bush and veteran Aaron Stecker on their roster at the position. Because McAllister has proven to be a solid NFL running back the past few years, and because of Bush's struggles as a pure running back last season, it'd be a surprise if the Saints chose to waive McAllister. McAllister already pushed the original roster bonus deadline from March 15 to April 15 in order to give the team more time to assess his condition.
