The Seattle Seahawks signed kicked Olindo Mare on Thursday. The deal is reportedly worth $3.5 million for two years.
The Seahawks needed a new kicker after long-time veteran Josh Brown became a free agent and signed with the St. Louis Rams.
Mare had his struggles last season with the New Orleans Saints after playing with the Miami Dolphins for 10 seasons. Mare only connected on 10-of-17 attempts last season, including four misses from beyond 50 yards.
Mare was considering the Seahawks and the Denver Broncos as his possible destinations, but ultimately chose Seattle. The Broncos are looking for a replacement for Jason Elam, who they lost in free agency.
