With the fifteenth pick of the 2007 NFL Draft, the Pittsburgh Steelers selected linebacker Lawrence Timmons. Timmons was the type of player that could have gone anywhere after the tenth pick in the first round, depending on need. It was largely believed that if Darrelle Revis was still on the board, the Steelers would have taken him instead.
Mike Tomlin wants to re-shape the Steelers defense to his liking, and adding a linebacker takes a step forward in that process.
Still, Brady Quinn remains on the board, although the Steelers had no interest in him with quarterback Ben Roethlisberger on their roster.
