The St. Louis Rams signed cornerback Tye Hill to a five-year deal on Sunday. Hill, the Rams first-round draft choice, hopes to improve the Rams porous secondary. He was selected with the 15th overall pick.

"I knew it was going to get done sometime," said Hill, who missed five days of training camp. "I'm ready to go at it."

Hill, who attended Clemson in college, is 5-foot-9 1/2 and weighs 185 pounds. Last year, he recorded 54 tackles and three interceptions.

Hill did not sign by the start of training camp, but head coach Scott Linehan believes he'll be fine.

"He's got to catch up," said Linehan. "Those other guys have taken full advantage of their opportunity to get a head start. Tye's going to have to spend some extra time, but we're certainly glad to get it done."
