As we all know we expected to happen, Brett Favre wants to come back. But the question none of us were ever expecting to ask: What colors will he be wearing? Four months after announcing the end of his 17-year career in March, Favre sent a formal letter to the Green Bay Packers asking for his unconditional release. They received the letter Friday, three days after a conference call with Favre in which he expressed his desire to return. The...

With the 31st and final pick of the first round in the 2008 NFL Draft, the Giants again go to work on the defense that led them to a Super Bowl victory last season. The team selected from safety Kenny Phillips from Miami. The Giants were great on defense last season, so why not make it even better?

With the 30th pick in the 2008 NFL Draft, the New York Jets traded with the Green Bay Packers to select tight end Dustin Keller from Purdue. It seems questionable to take a tight end this high that isn't rated as a big-time playmaker, however is he a pass-catcher. You'd think they'd just trade for Jeremy Shockey. It's ironic that Keller is technically the first receiver taken in the draft.

With the 29th pick in the 2008 NFL Draft, the San Francisco 49ers selected defensive tackle Kentwan Balmer from North Carolina. The worst offensive team in football last season again neglects offense in the draft? It's tough to take a quarterback, because you have Alex Smith still. It's tough to take a running back, because you have Frank Gore still. It's viable to take a receiver, but you did sign Isaac Bruce and Bryant Johnson in the offseason....

With the 28th pick in the 2008 NFL Draft, the Seattle Seahawks selected defensive end Lawrence Jackson from USC. While Jackson isn't the prototypical player that fans will get excited about, he'll fill a need for the Seahawks after losing Chuck Darby and Ellis Wyms in the offseason. Jackson's chances of stepping in and starting immediately for the Seahawks would be high, but whether or not he'd be effective is the big question. The Seahawks were...
