Vernon Davis
-
College: Maryland
Position: TE
Height: 6'3"
Weight: 250 lbs.

Player Information: Vernon Davis is another tight end coming out of the draft who is very athletic after playing football, basketball, and track. He played several different positions, but will be selected as a tight end in the draft. In his senior season, he caught 21 passes for 511 yards and five touchdowns. He caught 11 touchdowns in his junior season.

Davis will draw eyes from a lot of teams because he has the speed of a receiver to go along with the great strength that a tight end is expected to have. He has good hands and is able to run his routes very well. Davis will work in any system that utilizes the tight end position often and can be split out as a wide receiver to create special packages. There is some concern as to whether or not he can block well enough when he's not running a route.

Davis will probably go in the later part of the first round. There's a chance that he could be taken half-way through the first round if a team has already seen there "wanted" players taken off the board ahead of Davis.
