In our Week 15 Power Rankings, the Indianapolis Colts suffered their second straight week of falling one spot. The Baltimore Ravens defense has played twenty times better than the Colts have this season, and Peyton Manning can't run the offense well enough if he doesn't have faith that his defense can get him the ball back often enough. Meanwhile, the New Orleans Saints catapulted over the Dallas Cowboys, as the New York Giants and Jacksonville Jaguars also found themselves back in the top ten after impressive performances. These rankings were made on December 14th, 2006, right before Week 15. These rankings take into account the momentum teams had from last week, as well as their expectations heading into the season.

Rank Team Comment
(2) - One second Tomlinson doesn't have the record, the next second he ties it, and then another second later he breaks it. The Chargers are now primed to be AFC Champions.
(5) - The Ravens are in playoff mode when they are able to put a clamp on the Chiefs at Arrowhead in December.
(2) - Teams used to think "we gotta match Peyton Manning score for score". Lately, the Colts are having to think that about their opponents.
(6) - It wasn't pretty defensively, but Rex Grossman took babysteps towards getting comfortable at quarterback again.
(7) - The Saints just may be the most exciting offensive team in football now.
(4) - The Cowboys are still good, but it seemed as if they had no gameplan planned against the Saints.
(3) - The Patriots can't afford to get shut out by the Dolphins this late in the season.
(9) - The Bengals have come through in the clutch more so than any other team that was vying for a playoff spot a few weeks ago.
(11) - The Cowboys and the Titans beat the Colts in competitive game. The Jaguars simply slaughtered Indianapolis.
(8) - Last year's Seahawks wouldn't lose to both Arizona and San Francisco.
(14) - The cure for getting back on track: face a team that was in greater disarray.
(10) - When the defense can't carry the Broncos, they really don't seem like a very good football team anymore.
(12) - The Chiefs have a ways to go before they can get back into a wildcard spot.
(15) - Jeff Garcia was definitely a wise pickup for the Eagles, and he could actually be playing in the postseason.
(17) - Quietly, the Falcons could claim a wildcard spot, despite the awful play on both sides of the ball this season.
(13) - The Jets' performance against the Bills shows they are still youthful, but they aren't out of it yet.
(19) - The Titans have perhaps played the most exciting three weeks in NFL history, in terms of finishing games.
(18) - Right when the Dolphins were poised to fade, they shut out the Patriots 21-0. Ouch.
(16) - Jake Delhomme will have a pair of division games to get Carolina back in the race: if he blows it, they're done.
(28) - The Vikings only jumped eight spots because they are surprisingly a game out of the playoffs.
(22) - The Steelers need way too many thing to happen to reach the playoffs.
(20) - I don't care how good Devin Hester is, you shouldn't allow two returned touchdowns in one game...ever.
(21) - For once, the 49ers couldn't use their home field to pull off a win.
(24) - The Bills show promise year after year, but the record is under .500 way too often.
(23) - Did Ladell Betts really deserve that big of a contract?
(27) - Brett Favre's having fun when he has a game like he did against the 49ers.
(25) - Cleveland fans are getting sick of being embarrassed by divisional rivals.
(30) - Amazing: when the Cardinals running game works, they start to win football games.
(26) - While Houston remains a boring team, they get to watch players like Vince Young and Reggie Bush light the league up.
(29) - Exciting quarterback controversy: Chris Simms, Bruce Gradkowski, or Tim Rattay? *Yawn*
(31) - Not only did Joey Harrington own the Lions this season, but Artose Pinner did as well.
(32) - I'm curious to see what the Raiders attempt to do in the offseason.
