Terrell Owens, take note how to get a better contract the right way. Pittsburgh Steelers star wide receiver Hines Ward received a four-year contract extension worth about $25.83 million with $10 million in bonuses.
Ward is very popular in Pittsburgh and is one of the game's best all-around receivers. He held out before the preseason, but ended his holdout before receiving a new contract so that he could play in the preseason.
"We are extremely pleased to have signed Hines Ward to a new contract that will allow him to remain a Steeler for years to come," said Steelers president Art Rooney II. "Hines has been a key reason for our success on the field and a team leader both on the field and in the community."
Ward may be the only threat for the Steelers this year in the passing game, as Plaxico Burress signed with the New York Giants in the offseason.
