This isn't what the Tennessee Titans wanted before the regular season. Cornerback Adam Jones was charged with disorderly conduct and public intoxication Friday morning. He did not play against the Atlanta Falcons Saturday due to the arrest.
"I am going sit him out of this game on principle and not because I believe he is guilty in this case based on what I believe the facts are at this time," said head coach Jeff Fisher on Friday. "Last January I let the team know that they would be held to a higher standard and this does not meet that standard."
According to police, Jones was arguing with a woman outside of a nightclub. Jones has been drinking a lot of alcohol, and accused a woman of stealing his wallet. Jones was released on $750 bond.
Jones had been anticipating playing in Atlanta this week, his hometown. Instead, the sixth-overall draft pick of last year's draft had to suffer the consequences of poor conduct.
