The Buffalo Bills have signed free-agent wide receiver Andre' Davis to a contract. Davis, who was with the New England Patriots last year, has connections with Buffalo quarterback Kelly Holcomb.
Davis, who has been in the league for four years, was originally drafted by the Cleveland Browns in 2002 in the second round. He showed a lot of potential with the Browns, but injuries kept him from having the type of season the team had envisioned. When Holcomb started in Cleveland, Davis was one of his favorite targets.
Davis was traded to the Patriots last year and only played a little, having nine catche for 190 yards and a touchdown. Davis will have to compete for his spot on the depth chart between himself, Lee Evans, and Roscoe Parrish. The team has not decided what they will do with veteran receiver Eric Moulds yet, and Josh Reed was not re-signed.
