The New York Jets have signed Andre Dyson to fill in the hole that was left after they did not keep cornerback Ty Law. Dyson was released by the Seahawks earlier in the month after helping them make the Super Bowl. Dyson is used to facing the Jets, since he played for the Titans in the AFC for the first four years of his career.
"Andre is a good, young player who has extensive playing experience at the highest levels in the NFL," said Jets general manager Mike Tannenbaum. "One of our priorities heading into the offseason was to acquire a cornerback that had valuable playing experience. He has played in two championship games and a Super Bowl, and that experience will be an asset to the Jets."
Law was not re-signed by the Jets because they felt he would want a lot of money, especially after an impressive season. Dyson started in seven games for the Seahawks last year, but missed six games to injury.
