-
The Chicago Bears have hired former NFL cornerback Gill Byrd as their defensive quality control coach. The team also promoted Lloyd Lee to defensive assistant on Monday.

Byrd is a 10-year veteran and a two-time Pro Bowler. He will help the Bears defensive backs as much as possible. He has spent the past three seasons as the assistant secondary coach/defensive assistant for the St. Louis Rams.

Lee has spent the past two seasons as the Bears defensive quality control coach and will now assist the defense with nickel packages as well as helping the linebackers.

Torrian Gray, the former assistant defensive backs coach for the Bears, left the Bears to accept a coaching position at Temple.
