The Cincinnati Bengals have signed defensive tackle Sam Adams to a three-year deal, but financial terms were not yet disclosed. Adams, who has played with the Buffalo Bills the past three seasons, is known for his large stature. He weighs in at 335 pounds and is 6-foot-4. He was originally taken in the 1994 draft in the first round by the Seattle Seahawks.
Adams has made the Pro Bowl three times during his career, but suffered from injuries last year. He started the first eight games of the season for Buffalo before being hobbled with an ankle injury the rest of the season.
"We're excited to have Sam join the Bengals," said Bengals head coach Marvin Lewis. "His abilities, both physically and mentally, will upgrade our defensive unit."
Adams was released by the Bills in a salary cap move. He only had 15 tackles with three sacks this past season.
