The Buffalo Bills have hired Steve Fairchild as their offensive coordinator in an attempt to improve an offense that had a lot of problems last year. Fairchild has been the St. Louis Rams offensive coordinator for the past three seasons, but he was the Bills' running backs coach during the 2001-2002 season.
Fairchild joins new head coach Dick Jauron, who was named the team's head coach on Monday. Fairchild, who is replacing Tom Clements, was a candidate for the job even if former head coach Mike Mularkey was still on the staff.
Last year, the Bills could not comfortably settle on one quarterback. J.P. Losman was young but often slumped, while veteran Kelly Holcomb could move the offense while producing costly turnovers at the same time.
