The Buffalo Bills released linebacker Jeff Posey on Monday, after he had started 47 games for them over the past three seasons. The move came just five days before the Bills were set to play their first preseason game. The Bills coaching staff will replace Posey with either Angelo Crowell or Mario Haggan in all likelihood. Crowell may have the upper hand, since he started some games last year for the injured Takeo Spikes.
Last year, Posey recorded 68 tackles and three sacks. Posey, a nine-year veteran, signed with the Bills in 2003. Posey shouldn't have a problem finding another team, but it may be difficult to settle into a role right away.
PFC Analysis: This move shouldn't hurt the Bills at all. Crowell can do just as well, if not better, than Posey at this point.
