Eric Moulds' agent has stated that Moulds has no interest in taking a pay cut in order to remain on the team next year or help the team stay under the cap. Moulds is signed through 2007, and will be making $10.85 million against the cap next season unless the Bills do something about it. Early reports believe that the Bills will not retain Moulds unless he agrees to come back at a lower price.
Moulds is currently making a lot of money for not having a "huge" season in recent memory. If the Bills cut Moulds, they would save about $5.5 million this season. If he is released, several teams will probably be interested in acquiring the veteran on the free agent market as a second or third receiver. It would be difficult for the Bills to use Moulds as trade bait, since they've already made it pretty clear that he could be cut soon.
