The Atlanta Falcons aren't wasting any time under Bobby Petrino. Just one day after being named as the Falcons new head coach, Petrino reached agreements with Dallas Cowboys defensive coordinator Mike Zimmer and Cincinnati Bengals receivers coach Hue Jackson. Petrino wants to improve the Falcons defense, starting with the establishment of a solid 4-3 system.
"One of my critical hires will be my defensive coordinator," Petrino said on Monday. "It's certainly going to be very important to me. I want to be able to play the game very aggressive and be able to come after the quarterback. Obviously, you have to stop the run first."
Although Petrino will call his own plays during games likely, Jackson will guide the offense in practice and aid him with the offensive gameplan. Jackson will be the team's defensive coordinator, replacing current coordinator Ed Donatell. Jackson will be replacing Greg Knapp.
