Brett Favre doesn't plan on ending his streak just yet. Favre, who has started a record 245 straight games as a quarterback, suffered a pinched nerve and minor concussion during Monday night's loss to the Philadelphia Eagles. The Packers are set to face the St. Louis Rams this Sunday.
"A little sore, but I'll be fine," said Favre, regarding how he currently feels.
Favre was taken out of the game after Eagles defensive lineman Juqua Thomas hit him hard. Favre doesn't even remember what happened due to how hard he was hit.
"I would like to tell you what happened, I got the you-know-what knocked out of me," Favre said. "But I haven't seen the play yet."
Favre still had soreness in his neck and shoulder area on Wednesday. His head is also causing some pain when he turns it a certain way, something he hopes improves over the next few days. He sat out of team drills Wednesday.
The Packers had the lead heading into the half against the Eagles, but ended up losing 31-9. The Packers have had two strong offensive showings, and two poor ones. After Favre's injury Monday night, backup quarterback Aaron Rodgers replaced him for a couple of plays before the end of the game. In regards to the offensive struggles at times, Favre knows that there must be a balance.
"I think we're trying to do a little bit of both," Favre said. "We're trying to establish the run, but not to the extent of hampering our offensive scoring. I know we're not scoring a lot of points, but at what point do you abandon the run and stick to the pass? I don't know. When you fall behind you have to start throwing."
This week's game against the Rams could turn out to be a shootout.
