Brett Favre has made it official: he'll be returning to the Green Bay Packers for one more year. One of the most popular players in Green Bay history finally made it official before the draft, possibly so the team could gear its draft in a better direction.
"The Green Bay Packers are very pleased that Brett has come to this decision, and look forward to a successful 2006 season," said Packers general manager Ted Thompson.
Favre has delayed his announcement for awhile, forcing the Packers to constantly push back a roster bonus that he was supposed to receive in March. Favre has stated that this will be his final season, but nothing is concrete until it's made official.
Last year, the Packers went 4-12 after being hit with constant injuries. Favre seemed to be the only person on the field trying to make a play at times, which caused him to throw a lot of interceptions.
