The Denver Broncos have placed safety Sam Brandon on the injured reserve after he tore his right anterior cruciate ligament this past Sunday against the Pittsburgh Steelers. The injury occurred when Brandon tackled Steelers' running back Najeh Davenport.

This season, serving as a nickel back, Brandon recorded 15 tackles and recovered one fumble. He was originally a fourth round draft pick in the 2002 draft. During his five seasons with the Broncos, Brandon recorded 131 tackles and one interception.
