The Denver Broncos have signed defensive end Courtney Brown to a contract extension that will last through the 2009 season. Brown signed with the Broncos last year after spending his first five seasons with the Cleveland Browns.
"Courtney came to our team last season and helped solidify a defensive front that clearly became a strength of our football team," said Broncos general manager Ted Sundquist. "He proved to be an outstanding addition."
Brown started 13 games for Denver and had 38 tackles with two sacks and two fumble recoveries. For his standards, Brown had one of the healthiest years in his football career in Denver.
