With a whole city of fans, several players on a team, and a 32nd ranked offense against you, you're not going to stick around very long. The Cleveland Browns dumped offensive coordinator Maurice Carthon on Tuesday, after a lackluster effort against the Denver Broncos. The Browns said they would be better offensively after the bye week, but instead, they looked worse.
Although it is believed Carthon was "fired" by the Browns basically, he technically "handed in his resignation" to the team. Head coach Romeo Crennel accepted it, but it is believed that general manager Phil Savage and team owner Randy Lerner were strongly pushing for Carthon to be replaced, or else.
Browns offensive line coach Jeff Davidson will take over as the team's offensive coordinator. Browns fans hope for a much better offense, but it will take time.
"He'll pick the things he likes and dress them up," Crennel said.
The Browns will face the New York Jets this week at home, a game they are favored to win slightly.
