The Cleveland Browns are not ready to name quarterback Charlie Frye as their starting quarterback heading into next season. Browns head coach Romeo Crennel said that the position is open for competition. That would mean that veteran quarterback Trent Dilfer will be given the chance to start next season. Although he is receiving this "shot", it is doubtful that he will start. If anything, not naming a quarterback officially will probably be used in an attempt to motivate Frye to perform to the best of his abilities in training camp, while still keeping Dilfer pleased.

On another note, the Browns are looking to sign a veteran free agent receiver since Antonio Bryant will not be back with the team next year. Joe Jurevicius has been rumored for awhile, and even commented on the possibility of joining the Browns:

"But everything is out of my hands. It's a matter of do the teams want me and am I the type of player that fits into their system?"

The Browns will have Braylon Edwards, Kellen Winslow, and Dennis Northcutt for sure next season as their main receiving threats.
