The Cleveland Browns tried to sign running back Chestor Taylor a few weeks ago, but the deal fell through after the Baltimore Ravens matched the Browns offer. Now, the Browns went out and acquired Denver Broncos running back Reuben Droughns in exchange for two defensive linemen on the Browns; Ebenezer Ekuban and Michael Myers.
The Broncos defensive line may look like the Cleveland Browns line from last year. In this offseason, the Broncos have added Geraud Warren, Courtney Brown, Ebenezer Ekuban and Michael Myers. All four of them played for the Browns last season.
The signing of Reuben Droughns almost confirms that William Green will be released soon. However, Droughns may be competing for the starting job with Lee Suggs. If the Browns had been able to keep Chestor Taylor, Suggs would have likely been awared the starting job. Due to Droughns strong performance in Denver last year as a starter at times, the Browns have to give him a shot to see what he can do.
Last year, Droughns ran for 1,240 yards. The Browns have not had a running back go over 1,000 yards in a season for a long time.
