The Cleveland Browns have promoted offensive line coach Jeff Davidson to the assistant head coaching position. Davidson will still work with the offensive line, but will not fulfill some of the duties that head coach Romeo Crennel and the rest of the staff worked on this season.
"Jeff will add to his current role by assisting me with any overflow duties that might arise," said Crennel in a statement. "Hopefully, this position will further Jeff's career down the road and help the Cleveland Browns in the immediate future."
The Browns offensive line had a fairly good season, especially compared to the past couple of years. Joe Andruzzi, Cosey Coleman, L.J. Shelton, Jeff Faine, and Ryan Tucker didn't do too bad as a group. In fact, they helped produce the Browns first 1,000 yard rusher in ages.
Davidson has some experience as an assistant coach from when he was with the New England Patriots.
