The Browns continue to clean out their former first round draft picks by releasing defensive lineman Courtney Brown today. The reason he was cut is so the Browns won't have to pay him a $2.5 million dollar roster bonus.

There is still a good chance that Brown will reutn to the team. The Browns are interested in re-signing him if possible, but other teams may try and pursue him.

Brown has been plagued by injuries his entire career, missing a lot of games. If Brown was to remain in Cleveland, there was a chance that he could be converted into a linebacker since the Browns are converting into a 3-4 defensive scheme.

The Browns signed veteran defensive lineman Jason Fisk to a deal to serve as a backup this coming season.
