The Cleveland Browns have signed veteran CB Ray Mickens to a one-year deal. Mickens was released by the New York Jets earlier this month after the team had signed CB Ty Law.
Mickens missed all of last season after tearing a ligament in his knee. He was a starter in 2003 for the Jets when he recorderd 75 tackles and two interceptions.
The Browns were in need of a cornerback after starter Daylon McCutcheon missed most of training camp due to headaches and dizziness. Michael Lehan, who was projected to replace McCutcheon if needed, strained his hamstring during practice.
It is not known if Mickens will play in this weeks preseason game, however it is unlikely since he still needs to get used to the Browns system.
