After a two week holdout, the Cleveland Browns first pick of the draft finally signed a deal with the team. Braylon Edwards, who was picked third overall by the Browns, has been rumored to sign on various occasions, but then talks would break down between the teams.
Edwards signed a five-year, $40 million contract. The deal includes about $20 million in guarenteed money.
It is unlikely that Edwards will play this Saturday against the New York Giants due to his lack of time to prepare.
Edwards could be put into the starting lineup next week, but receivers Antonio Bryant, Dennis Northcutt, and Andre Davis all have a jump start on Edwards.
