-
San Diego Chargers starting center Nick Hardwick has signed a new six-year deal, which will last him through the 2011 season. Hardwick has started in 27 games for the Chargers and has been a major part of LaDainian Tomlinson's success over the past few seasons.

"It's a huge relief," Hardwick said. "It's nice to know that I'm going to be here for a while and I'm looking forward to this team continuing to move in the right direction."

Hardwick was originally a third-round draft pick by the Chargers in 2004, and has been impressive during his short stay with the team.
