Cleveland, Oh. (PFCritics) -- According to the Nashville City Paper, Tennessee Titans running back Chris Brown is leading the three-way competition between himself, Travis Henry, and rookie LenDale White so far. The reason relates to Brown's blocking ability, which is superior than both Henry and White.
"You have to have a back who can pass block, who can recognize what they're doing, give the quarterback time to throw the ball, and then have the ability to catch the ball," said running backs coach Sherman Smith. "I trust (Brown) the most in pass protection, and he's not a bad receiver."
Of course, we all know that Brown hasn't been known to stay healthy so far in his career. If White performs well in training camp, he could become the backup due to his ability to break tackles and pound it in down near the goal line. It is not yet known if the Titans would keep all three backs, with Henry being the most likely to get cut if necessary.
