The Indianapolis Colts have re-signed free-agent linebacker Gary Brackett to a new deal. Brackett was a huge part of the team's success this past season, leading the team in tackles.
"Gary loves Indianapolis and playing for coach (Tony) Dungy and coach (Ron) Meeks," said Justin Fine, Brackett's agent. "It's a winning team and, coming from Rutgers, he understands how hard it is to play for a team that's not winning. He's looking forward to winning a Super Bowl."
The Colts will also try to reach deals with linebacker David Thornton and Cato June, both of whom the Colts would love to have back. However, Brackett was the third priority on the team's list.
"Gary was not their No. 1 priority, but he was a priority after Raheem (Brock) and Reggie (Wayne) got their deals done," Fine said.
The Colts will also try to negotiate with running back Edgerrin James, but it's doubtful that an agreement will be reached.
