After signing wide receiver Ricky Proehl, the Colts may not need him. Indianapolis expects two of their clutch players to return to action this week in receiver Brandon Stokley and safety Bob Sanders. Stokley has not played since October 8th after he sprained his left knee against the same team he'll be facing this week, the Tennessee Titans. In that game, Stokley caught five passes for 57 yards.
"Hopefully I'll be able to get out there and give it a show," he said. "We'll see how it does."
With Dallas Clark leaving last week's game against the Philadelphia Eagles with a strained ligament in his right knee, the return of Stokley couldn't have come at a better time. Sanders has been out of action for about the same amount of time. He has missed eight of the team's past nine games, although he did have a surprise start on November 5th when the team faced the New England Patriots.
"I'm doing real good," Sanders said after Friday's practice. "I'm excited and I'm expecting to be out there playing this Sunday."
The Colts will need to bring their "A" game early against Vince Young and the Titans. Tennessee has upset the Philadelphia Eagles and the New York Giants in recent weeks, and nearly defeated the Colts earlier in the season.
