The Indianapolis Colts have lost running back James Mungro for the entire season after he tore a knee ligament against the Seattle Seahawks this past Sunday. Mungro, who has often been used as a goal line back for the Colts, has already been placed on the injured reserve.
"Don't know when they're going to do the surgery but at some point that's just going to be necessary. He was our third back and was a very good runner, a guy that could go in and play tailback and win games for us," Dungy said. "He was a very good special teams player for us. So somebody's going to have to step into that role."
Over the past four seasons, Mungro has recorded 13 touchdowns. With former starting running back Edgerrin James gone, the Colts are depending on Dominic Rhodes and Joseph Addai to carry the load.
