The Indianapolis Colts placed starting safety Bob Sanders on the physcally unable to perform list on Monday. The move did not come as a surprise, as Sanders had surgery in the offseason to repair his left shoulder. Sanders will not be able to practice for a few weeks, and if he is not removed from the PUP list before the rosters are trimmed to 53 players, then he will not be activated until Week 7.
"Like I said, there's nothing wrong with the legs, so they're making sure I get a lot of work in," Sanders said.
The Colts also put second-round cornerback Tim Jennings, defensive back Eric Hill, and defensive end Jonathan Welsh on the PUP. The Colts also terminated the contracts of offensive lineman Makoa Freitas and linebacker Keyon Whiteside. The team also waived wide receivers Jamie Goodwin and Gerran Walker, linebacker Dale Robinson, and quarterback David Koral.
