Indianapolis Colts starting safety Mike Doss will be out for the remainder of the season with a torn ACL. Doss suffered the injury during this past Sunday's game against the Washington Redskins.
Doss actually became a backup for the Colts to begin this season, but started for safety Bob Sanders after he had arthroscopic surgery on his right knee. Sanders has missed the past four games, but head coach Tony Dungy hopes that he can return this week.
Doss was originally a second-round draft pick from Ohio State in 2003. He has seven interceptions during his career, including two this season.
"He had played well for us, and when we needed it when Bob was out," Dungy said. "He had gotten two game balls in five games. He'll be back. But not being able to play is the worst part of it."
