The Detroit Lions made their second trade in as many days by trading defensive end James Hall to the St. Louis Rams in exchange or a fifth-round draft pick in April's draft. Hall only played in seven games this season due to injury, but he recorded five sacks during that time. During his seven seasons with the Lions, Hall had 33 sacks. The trade comes a day after the Lions traded cornerback Dre Bly and a sixth-round draft pick to the Denver Broncos for running back Tatum Bell, offensive tackle George Foster, and a fifth-round draft pick.
The Lions also released veteran tight end Marcus Pollard and defensive tackles Tyoka Jackson and Marcus Bell. Pollard had a productive season in 2005, catching 46 passes for 516 yards. Last year he only had 12 catches for 100 yards.
