After testing the market for two weeks, unrestricted free agent Ron Edwards has re-signed with Kansas City. The defensive tackle started every game for the Chiefs in 2006, his first year with the team. He had 25 tackles and 2.5 sacks.

The 6'3 315 pound tackle from Texas A&M was drafted the third round of the 2001 draft. He spent his first five seasons with Buffalo, then signed a one-year deal with Kansas City last year.

In his six year career, Edwards has started 40 of the 64 games he played in. He has 139 tackles, 9.5 sacks, three forced fumbles, and one fumble recovery.

The agreed deal is a four-year contract. Other details were not yet available.
