The Carolina Panthers were upset at their week one performance against the Atlanta Falcons, and it won't get any better defensively this week against the Minnesota Vikings. Linebacker Dan Morgan will not play this week after suffering a concussion during the second quarter of last week's 20-6 loss against the Falcons. Meanwhile, receiver Steve Smith and center Justin Hartwig missed practice again and are listed as questionable. The Panthers offense struggled without Smith.
Morgan has had concussion problems in the past. He will probably be replaced by linebacker Adam Seward, who took over for him during last week's game.
The Panthers offensive line is quickly experiencing problems. The Panthers lost starting left tackle Travelle Wharton for the season on Sunday, and Hartwig may not play this week due to his groin injury. For a team that was pegged by many to make the Super Bowl, the start of the year is already turning out as it did two years ago - full of injuries.
