Kansas City Chiefs linebacker Derrick Johnson is out for this week's game against the Miami Dolphins, adding to a list of hurt players on the Chiefs. The Chiefs are already without guard Brian Walters, right tackle Kevin Sampson, and quarterback Trent Green.
Johnson hurt his ankle against the St. Louis Ram last Sunday. Johnson, who was selected in the first round a few seasons ago, has been one of the best tacklers and playmakers on the Chiefs this season. His presence will certainly be missed.
"I think the young guys we have in there are going to play well. But it's going to be a little bit new," said head coach Herman Edwards.
At the moment, it's unclear when Johnson will return. Linebacker Keyaron Fox, a third-round round draft pick from the 2004 draft, will probably be the man to get the start in place of Johnson. It would be his first career start.
PFC Analysis: If you have the Chiefs defense, it's still worth giving them a shot this week. They're facing the Miami Dolphins, who are bound to make turnovers under Joey Harrington.
