The Miami Dolphins have signed first-round draft pick Ronnie Brown to a five-year, $34 million contract. The deal includes $20 million in guaranteed money.
Brown, the second overall pick in the draft, is finally able to begin practicing with the team. He will be entering a competition with Ricky Williams, who is making his return to the team.
Brown will be the team's starter for the first four games of the season while Ricky Williams serves the remainder of his suspension. After that, it'll be Nick Saban's choice as to what direction he wants his team to go.
"I'm looking forward to it," Brown said on the competition. "Ricky has had a lot of success on this level. I can't take anything away from him. Hopefully I can come in and learn some things and just compete each day."
Brown ran for 2,707 yards and 28 touchdowns for Auburn last year.
