The Green Bay Packers have re-signed wide receiver Donald Driver to a two-year contract extension. His new deal is worth around $17 million over four years. Packers general manager Ted Thompson knows how good of a player Driver has been for the Packers.
"Donald's a fine player, a real pro, and we're glad he's going to be here a little longer," Thompson said.
Brett Favre should be pleased with the announcement, even if it may be his last season in the NFL. Driver has been one of Favre's favorite targets over the past four seasons. Last year, Driver seemed to be the team's only healthy player remaining on offense, catching 86 passes for 1,221 yards and five touchdowns.
Driver is now the definite number one receiver after the team traded receiver Javon Walker to the Denver Broncos.
