ESPN's Chris Mortensen is reporting that the Kansas City Chiefs and Herm Edwards have agreed to a four-year deal worth $12 million to make him the team's head coach.

Kansas City will have to send a fourth round draft pick to the Jets as compensation for Edwards.

Edwards made the playoffs with the Jets three times, while going 39-41 during his five-year tenure. The Jets 4-12 record in 2005 was the worst during Edwards time with the team.

Edwards takes over for the retiring Dick Vermeil.
